BEHIND every good film is a brilliant soundtrack.
So get your guys together, belt out some tunes and submit a piece for the 2004 Shoot Out Film Festival.
Festival organisers are calling for Hunter songwriters and bands to submit their recordings to the Shoot Out music library.
This library, which has all styles ranging from pop, country and techno to classical and rock, is accessed by filmmakers and used in their short films.
Each year the number of songwriters and bands who submit offerings to the library increases.
Last year the count stood at 50 local bands and the most popular five artists were Pointbreakspy, Ross Fiddes, Undermine, Newcastle Electronica and 37 (pictured at left). The deadline for submissions to the music library this year is Friday, June 18.
The Newcastle Shoot Out will be held over the weekend of July 9 to 11.
The Shoot Out is a short filmmaking festival that has been operating since 1999.
Filmmakers come together in one place to make a short film in 24 hours.
The films must be no longer than seven minutes and filmmakers have to select five landmarks or objects out of a list of Newcastle locations to include in their effort.
To submit music to the library phone 49621855 or visit www.theshootout.com.au.
